The need of a Secondary Access Road for the growing Ocean County College campus was designated as Phase 4 of the college’s road infrastructure upgrade. The designed route necessitated the clearing of a mile of woods and wetlands. Preparing the cleared site for Road Construction required a very large Earthwork Import of 40,000 yards. Three large Bridge Culverts were installed at points along the low-lying route, complete with Steel Sheeting and Precast Structures. A significantly large Retention System was installed, along with 1000 trees and Lighting. After Final Road Paving and Curb Line, the completed Access Road doubles as a newly-designated Evacuation Route in the event of emergency.
